
Mrs. Faith Otobo, LCSW
Faith Otobo is a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist grounded in a Christ-centered approach, committed to providing virtual therapy services marked by compassion, excellence, and integrity. Her therapeutic framework is founded upon non-judgmental principles and informed by trauma-sensitive practices. Over nearly a decade, she has diligently assisted individuals, children, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds in their journey towards healing, empowerment, and authenticity. Her experience spans a wide spectrum of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, grief, chronic and recurrent psychological disorders, family and relational discord, as well as issues pertaining to personal identity. Mrs. Otobo is a Board certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker and coach based in New York. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California and has undergone specialized training in trauma-informed therapy. Mrs. Otobo has accumulated extensive experience in diverse mental health settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, counseling centers, and residential programs, where she has focused on addressing mental health issues and providing clinical support services to underserved youths, and families in communities across greater New York City.
With a client-centered approach, Mrs. Otobo tailors her therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual. She draws from various modalities, including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Method, Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation - Narrative Therapy (STAIR-NST), Trauma-Focused Therapy, TARGET - Trauma Affect Regulation, Sanctuary Model, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to effectively address concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and housing issues. Mrs. Otobo prioritizes collaborative problem-solving and empowers clients to lead their healing journey, avoiding the imposition of labels or external values.
Mrs. Otobo has been featured in the New York State of Mindfulness podcast, sharing my expertise on BIPOC mental health. Her work ethics are informed by a range of experiences, including serving as the clinical director of a non-profit program and co-facilitating its BIPOC Confronting Structural Racism initiatives.
Mrs. Otobo is committed to professional development and is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers, staying abreast of the latest research and best practices in the field.
