Mrs. Faith Otobo, LCSW

Faith Otobo is a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist grounded in a Christ-centered approach, committed to providing virtual therapy services marked by compassion, excellence, and integrity. Her therapeutic framework is founded upon non-judgmental principles and informed by trauma-sensitive practices. Over nearly a decade, she has diligently assisted individuals, children, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds in their journey towards healing, empowerment, and authenticity. Her experience spans a wide spectrum of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, grief, chronic and recurrent psychological disorders, family and relational discord, as well as issues pertaining to personal identity. You will find her approach supportive and transformative!

Mrs. Otobo is a Board certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker and coach based in New York. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California and has undergone specialized training in trauma-informed therapy. Mrs. Otobo has accumulated extensive experience in diverse mental health settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, counseling centers, and residential programs, where she has focused on addressing mental health issues and providing clinical support services to underserved youths, and families in communities across greater New York City.

With a client-centered approach, Mrs. Otobo tailors her therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual. She draws from various modalities, including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Method, Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation - Narrative Therapy (STAIR-NST), Trauma-Focused Therapy, TARGET - Trauma Affect Regulation, Sanctuary Model, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to effectively address concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and housing issues. Mrs. Otobo prioritizes collaborative problem-solving and empowers clients to lead their healing journey, avoiding the imposition of labels or external values.

Mrs. Otobo has been featured in the New York State of Mindfulness podcast, sharing my expertise on BIPOC mental health. Her work ethics are informed by a range of experiences, including serving as the clinical director of a non-profit program and co-facilitating its BIPOC Confronting Structural Racism initiatives.

Mrs. Otobo is committed to professional development and is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers, staying abreast of the latest research and best practices in the field.

trauma fast-track

  • What are your rates?
    For therapy, our rates are $250-$300 per 50-minute session for licensed clinicians and $120-$150 for associates. For our Trauma Fast-Track approach , the rate is $1,500 for 6 sessions.
  • Do you accept insurance?
    Yes. We accept Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, Oscar, Tricare Humana, Oxford, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of New York (as well as NJ and Boston Massachusetts) and out-of-network insurance. Please note, we do not accept any insurance for Trauma Fast Track.
  • Do you offer online therapy?
    We currently exclusively offer New York Online Therapy. All of our sessions are offered virtually, so you get the same level of support from the comfort of your couch, instead of ours. If you are looking for an NYC online therapist or NYC online therapy, feel free to schedule a complimentary 10-minute consultation with me to learn more about how you can finally start experiencing the freedom you deserve!
  • How long does therapy take?
    This is truly dependent on each individual and their presenting concerns, Some people need a few sessions while others benefit from ongoing therapy. We do have shorter packages available.
  • What happens in a free consult?
    A free consult is a 10-minute call and/or video session where you can ask any questions and see if you feel that this would be a good therapeutic fit. BOOK YOUR FREE CONSULT HERE
  • How often do I need therapy?
    This depends on the presenting concern and the level of distress. At a minimum, everyone starts with once per week therapy and scales back as they progress.
  • What's the difference between therapy, psychotherapy, and counseling?
    These are all interchangeable names for the same service.
  • Do you offer in-person therapy?
    No. We do not offer in-person therapy at this time. Our New York counseling services are exclusively offered online via a secure telehealth platform. If you are looking for a Manhattan therapist (or a Brooklyn therapist, Queens therapist, Staten Island therapist, Bronx therapist, or an online therapist in New York State), we can help — as long as you don’t mind seeing your online therapist from the comfort of your own couch.
