Our Story

AleroCares LLC was born out of a deep commitment to transforming lives through the power of compassion, faith, and mental health care. Our founder, Faith Otobo, has always believed in the profound impact of understanding and empathy on the human soul. This belief was shaped by her own experiences growing up in a community where mental health was often misunderstood and overlooked.

Faith's journey began in her hometown, where she witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by individuals and families in need of mental health, spiritual, economic support. Inspired by her faith and driven by a desire to make a difference, she pursued a career in in Psychology and ultimately a Doctorate in Clinical Social Work. During which she worked first hand with children and families in Child welfare to address risk/safety concerns to prevent placement into foster care. She also work with Children and Adolescents in foster to address underlying issues and promote a thoughtful and sustainable family reunification. Furthermore, she work with unhoused individual including adults 18 through 81 struggling with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and Substance Abuse (SA) to address barriers, achieve their goals and meet their basic needs with dignity and compassion. Faith also make monetary contributions and volunteers her time to address socio-economic and education needs of improvished individuals and families. Her passion for helping others led her to create AleroCares, a sanctuary of hope and healing for those seeking a brighter future.

We understand that every person’s journey is unique, and we are dedicated to providing personalized care that honors each individual’s story. Our mission is to empower our clients to overcome their challenges and thrive, no matter where they are in life.​

A client-centered approach

Mrs. Otobo tailors her therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual. She draws from various modalities, including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Method, Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation - Narrative Therapy (STAIR-NST), Trauma-Focused Therapy, TARGET - Trauma Affect Regulation, Sanctuary Model, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to effectively address concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and housing issues. Mrs. Otobo prioritizes collaborative problem-solving and empowers clients to lead their healing journey, avoiding the imposition of labels or external values.

Mrs. Otobo has been featured in the New York State of Mindfulness podcast, sharing her expertise on BIPOC mental health. Her work ethics are informed by a range of experiences, including serving as the clinical director of a non-profit program and co-facilitating its BIPOC Confronting Structural Racism initiatives.

Mrs. Otobo is committed to professional development and is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers, staying abreast of the latest research and best practices in the field.
